KTUR² Summer School on Entrepreneurship

On the way to your own company!

The trinational Summer School provides first-hand insights into the dynamic world of entrepreneurs. Over the course of a week, the big questions of any business are examined from a practical perspective: What is my business model? How do I make money? Where does the funding come from? How can I attract enough customers? Am I suitable as an entrepreneur?

You will meet academics and entrepreneurs from 12 universities in the Upper Rhine region (France, Germany and Switzerland) in an interactive setting. Either your develop your own idea or work on business ideas with other participating students.

The summer school will take place Freiburg, Basel and Strasbourg. You will have time to explore the three amazing cities in the Upper Rhine Region. An exciting evening program is included.

Place: Two days in Freiburg (Germany), two days in Strasbourg (France) and one day in Basel Campus FHNW (Switzerland)

Target Group

  • Students at all levels in the Upper Rhine region, as well as international students; especially students with little knowledge of business administration.
  • Students who are considering setting up their own company in the future.
  • Students who want to understand what it means to start and run a business. It is not necessary to already have a business idea or entrepreneurial activities. Interest in the topic is crucial.
  • Students/doctoral candidates from all scientific disciplines are welcome.

The Summer School is limited to 40 participants.

Details on the costs (for international students)

The Summer School is a one-week, all-day program free of charge. It includes lunches as well as social activities (e.g. city/museum tours, restaurant visits) in the evening.

However, some costs have to be covered by yourself such as transportation between Summer School locations, accommodation & dinners.

  • Accommodation:
    Single room in a youth hostel or budget hotel: Germany/France from approx. 60€ per night/person; Basel from approx. 90€ – depending on your wishes and time of booking
  • Dinner:
    Restaurant from around €20 for dinner with a drink (slightly higher in Switzerland), snack bars and take-aways sometimes offer cheaper alternatives
  • Public transportation:
    Airport to Freiburg: depending on the destination airport (e.g. Frankfurt a.M.: from approx. 100€ (one way)
    Freiburg to Strasbourg: from approx. 30€ (second class, regional train: 1:30h duration)
    Strasbourg to Basel: from approx. 30€ (second class, regional train: 1:30h duration)
